The
Living Universe
The
project for interactive CD-ROM - The Living Universe -
was presented by the group Celestial Generation-Nadezhda
Radeva, Rosen Ralev, Iliyan Darganov and Yana Radeva from
Varna. The group presents a lot of original information
in the following areas: The Living Water, The Miracle
of Life, Habitable Worlds, SETI, the Amazing Universe
and Gallery (astrophotographs, photo- collages and pictures
of the group) in more than 130 pages with more than 400
pictures. The main idea of the project is that water is
the cradle of life and there are conditions for life to
exist in the Solar system and the Universe. Two of the
themes: "The Water of Life" and "The Miracle
of Life" are in the field of Biology. The main functions
and the important biological functions of water, life
in the world ocean and the existing of water in the Universe
are analysed here. The theme "Habitable Worlds"
examine the possibility of life existing on the planets
in the Solar system. In the theme SETI there are presented
the history of the search
for extraterrestrial life and the most interesting projects
for looking for signals. The Amazing Universe is like
a small astroguiness and a world of interesting information
about life on the Earth. In the last theme Gallery beautiful
pictures of alien planets and creatures are combined with
astrophotographs and incredible photo-collages- a world
of the imagination of the members of the group.
The project "The Living Universe" is interesting
and attractive and working on it was a pleasure for the
group Celestial Generation
Short
information about the group Celestial Generation - Nadezhda
Radeva, Rosen Ralev, Iliyan Darganov and Yana Radeva.
The members of the group participated with very interesting
projects in the European programs for Bulgaria Sea and
Space and Physics on Stage. They attend the Astronomy
courses in the Astronomical Observatory, Varna. They have
been making
observations of comets, asteroids and Messier objects
for 4 years. Rosen Ralev is a very good programmer and
software created by him is used at the telescopes in National
Astronomy Observatory-Rozhen. Iliyan Darganov was chosen
for the best student-astrophotographer for the year 2000
and he is a very good web-designer. Yana Radeva paints
astronomy pictures and her favourite theme is astrobiology.
Nadezhda Radeva is the youngest member in the group but
she is the most active one.
The interactive CD-ROM " The Living Universe"
is a proof of a group of students can do when given an
interesting theme that gives them the opportunity to use
their talents and express their ideas.
